Absolutely invaluable! I am taking a Bible Study course on the Acts of the Apostles, and the commentary in this book gives enlightenment and understanding. Definite "Must Read"
Easy reading, yet rigorously presented

The Navarre Bible series, including this particular volume of the Acts of the Apostles, is a great source of literature of understanding Sacred Scripture that is consistent with the Catholic faith. Presentation-wise, the actual text of Scripture in English is presented with the various commentaries for every possible verse. Some of the commentaries are more of a "for your information" type of piece, while others are rich in analysis and application to the Christian life. The Latin version of Scripture is also included and I find this very helpful, especially if one wants to really understand the etymology and context of certain verses. Sometimes, I appreciate the gravity of certain verses because I grasp it from the Latin version. Overall, this is an easy read but deep in lessons for all types of readers. A great book for your everyday quarter-hour spiritual reading!

Cannot give this translation enough praise. This is the best translation study guide I have ever read. It sets the standard for all other translations/study guides. Only problem- expensive.

I purchased "The Navarre Bible: Acts of the Apostles" as a companion and reference book for our Catholic Scripture Studies on Acts. It was an amazing tool. Not only did I feel I could truly understand St. Paul's journey, the commentary provided such a wealth of spiritual strenghtening for my soul! It certainly added an extra hour to my weekly study, but, it was well worth it.

Highly recommended for all persons who are reading the Bible for the first time or who are well versed in it. The commentaries make the most difficult passages very understandable. This could very well be the only study guide that one would need for self-study of certain portions of the Bible. Why not all? Not all of the Bible is available, but the most important books of the New Testament are.
