The Murders at Impasse Louvain

The setting is gaslight Paris, a city of artists and salons, of gossip, romance, and infidelity. And sometimes it is a city of murder. One Sunday morning, Inspector Jean-Paul Gautier of the Paris Surete is called on to handle a scandalous double murder. It is a delicate case: Josephine Hassler, the wife of one victiom and the daughter of the other, was once before intimately involved with sudden death - the late President of France was rumored to have died in her arms... and the scandal was still the talk of Paris. Now it is up to Gautier to find the murderer...in a search that will take him from elegance of a Left Bank salon to the artists' haunts of Montmartre.
