Great Rah-Rah Book

I really did not know exactly what to expect with this book. I somewhat expected a book that would give preachers a practical plan of how to study the Greek New Testament in preparation of sermons. This is not what the book does. It does give several examples of concepts one could only find through a knowledge of the Greek, such as from NT prepositions and the papyri. While not as directly practical as I thought it might be, it does encourage the preacher to spend more time in the Greek NT.

An interesting and motivating collection of essays

Chapters:1. The Minister's Use of His Greek New Testament2. Notes on a Specimen Papyrus of the First Century AD3. The Use of "'uper" in Business Documents in the Papyri4. Pictures in Prepositions5. The Greek Article and the Deity of Christ6. The New Testament Use of "me" with Hesitant Questions in the Indicative Mode7. Grammar and Preaching8. Sermons in Greek Tenses9. John Brown of Haddington or Learning Greek Without a Teacher10. The Grammar of the Apocalypse of John11. The Romance of Erasmus's Greek New Testament12. Broadus as Scholar and PreacherAs one can tell from the above chapter listing, this 139-page book covers quite a range of subjects! A fascinating and motivating read, Robertson over and over again affirms the need for ministers to use the Greek New Testament in their ministry. And as readers would expect from such a great New Testament scholar, he suggests detailed and practical means to accomplish that task. This book is highly recommended reading for any pastor or student of the Greek New Testament.
