Just An Old Fashioned Love Story

Let me start this by saying I really like the old, old, old Harlequin Romances I have books from 1948 that I still read over and over. That being said, I love Betty Neels, Jessica Steele, Susan Fox and Eva Rutland. I like my books like that, to me that is romance, I like a story that is romantic, not full of sex or a sex manual. different stroke for different folks, there are enough sex filled books in most Harlequin Romance, all Harlequin Blaze, most Harlequin Presents, most Harlequin Medical Romance, most American Romance, all Harlequin Intimate Moments, all Harlequin Intrigue, all Harlequin Super Romance, all Silhouette Desire, all Silhouette Special Edition, all Silhouette Nocturne and all Mira. The only books without sex in almost every chapter is Steeple Hill Love Inspired. So when one writer doesn't give a lust filled book, I love that writer. Believe it or not once Diana Palmer wrote that she preferred books with plots rather than falling back on lust to fill the pages, go figure. Call me a relic call me what you will, I read what I like, you read what you like. Now about this book Miriam married Jay Carter knowing he was rich, but she thought as he did that love would conquer all, it wasn't until she got into his life style that she started to have doubts about her ability to cope with his type of world. But instead of talking to him, she ran away. Jay let her go for almost a year, then he decided enough was enough. He made up his mind to win his woman all over again, and that is exactly what he did. Although Jay really didn't change much, he got a house on loan with the option to buy without consulting Miriam and he took her there with out asking if that was what she wanted. But now that he knew what was holding his beloved in it's iron grip, he was able to help her cope with the changes that she needed to adapt to. Miriam also had a mixed up idea that her mother, Anne was still grieving for the fact that her father walked out on them when she was still a small child. When in fact she mom just wanted to give Miriam all she could of her time until Miriam was old enough to look after herself. The do make love in this book. From the back of the book: 'Mistletoe, marriage and the millionaire. Miriam knew her whirlwind marriage to millionaire Jay Carter wouldn't last. Plain and ordinary, she just didn't fit into his polished penthouse apartment or his glamorous lifestyle! Out of place and out of confidence, Miriam fled before Jay could realize his mistake. Jay has given his runaway bride some time away, but enough is enough-he is back to claim his wife once and for all! His ultimatum: she has until Christmas to return to his bed!'
