Mitford meets "The Notebook"

Paul McCusker's writing is delightful; his characters compelling; his plot riveting. The Mill House has all the charm of Jan Karon's Mitford, plus the plot twists of Nicholas Sparks' best tales. I've recommended it widely and can't wait to start the prequel.

A GREAT recommendation for all!

If you are looking for a great book to recommend to your husband, wife,Mother,Father,Grandmother,Grandfather, daughter, son, best friend, or boss: The Mill House is it!! They will all thank you for recommending it to them. The comments I heard repeatedly from family and friends who had read the book before I was, "I couldn't wait to find out what happened, but I made myself slow down because I didn't want it to end!" My sentiments exactly!! Paul McClusker is the first author since Mauve Binchy who I want to thank for introducing me to a whole new group of friends. I can't wait to get together with them again... SOON I hope! The Mill House is full of curiosity, excitement, mystery, romance, moral dilemmas, social issues, and family situations that have been with us all for many generations. It is both delightful and soul searching. Imagine a book that "speaks" to 4 or 5 generations at the same time?! It has the potential to open heartfelt conversations between grandparents, children, and grandchildren(especially teenagers.) The Mill House is such a book and in my opinion is why it will become a great success! Please don't make us wait too long to have another visit with our newest group of friends!!

A great valentines read

I have found a new author to read! I was not able to put this book down and shed a few tears in the process. This book magically intertwines different cultures and periods in history, with a plot that continually twists. The characters are so well developed, that I feel that I have lost some friends. Hoping that this is going to develop into a series!

What a Great!!! Book

This is a wonderful book. It is full of suspense, romance and intrigue and will keep you on the edge of your seat with each page turn. I was captivated with the plot and didn't want to put it down - I had to know what happened next. It was so well written you felt as though you were there - watching the action as it developed, viewing the English countryside first hand, riding the emotional roller coaster as the story unfolded, etc. This book is so exciting and interesting it will spark a true interest in reading.

A Rare Find!

Sometimes you get the rare find -- a truly wonderful story. THE MILL HOUSE by Paul McCusker is one of those finds. Set both in the US and in England, and both in the past and the present, this book brings together the elements that compose a grand read. In addition to great plot and characters, the author heightens the story with thoughts of loss, redemption, and hope as well as the secrets and discoveries that rest within the generational lines of family. I loved it!
