If you are not an experienced outdoorsman and you're looking for some backwoods camping and survival skills from back in the day that are essentially applicable today then you have found your book. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the age of the book and its occasional outdated reference to this or that. Filled with great tips for the new outdoors person and may still throw an idea or two to the experienced. Here's the chapter titles: The Lure of the Backwoods; Campfire: No. 1 Backwoods Necessity; Shelter: No. 2 Requirement; Heat & Cold; Then Comes Water; Your Appetite Will Be Like Never Before; Always Knowing Where You Are; Backpacking Back of Beyond; Paddling Your Own Canoe; Handling Your Own Pack Train.
