The Man Who Loved Clowns-a review

I think that The Man Who Loved Clowns by June Rae Wood was a great book. There was a girl named Delrita who was embrassed to go anywhere and she only had one friend. The reason was her uncle, Punkie, had downsyndrome and he lived with her. Her uncle loved clowns. The two kids who lived next door to her were scared and made fun of Punkie at first because he looked and acted different from everyone else. Then the little boy started playing with him. Delrita spent a lot of time carving wood into animals. Punkie would spend most of his time sitting on the floor in front of the TV. His birthday was coming up and since he liked clowns a lot, Delrita decided she would carve him a clown. When his birthday came she gave him the clown and he loved it. One day her mom and dad decided they wanted to go to an auction. There was a fair close to where the auction was, so her parents dropped Delrita and Punkie off. They said they would come pick them up after the auction finished. They waited and waited but her parents never came. They had gone in this one shop earlier and Punkie tried taking something so they were talking to the man who owned the shop and they became friends with him. The fair was about to close for the night and Delrita's parents still weren't there. I don't want to give away the book so I won't say anything else about it. You will just have to read it to find out why her parents didn't come and what happens to them through out the rest of the book. I hope you read this great book.

Clowns

The Man Who Loved Clowns is about a girl named Delrita Jenson and her Uncle Punky. Punky has down syndrome so Delrita dosen't have many friends because she doesn't want people to make fun of his disability. It is a heart warming story and you they grow on you as if you were really friends with them. I really like June Rae Wood. She is a really good author and i love how her book are so interesting. I really like the story. It makes me feel bad that some people would actually make fun of other people because of a disease they were born with. I have read her other books and they are just as good as this one. I really like this book. Its is one of my very favorite books I have read it a lot of times. It is a really good book you should think about reading it. The only thing I would change is I wouldn't have had both of her parents die. I think it was to dramatic. It is a good book for anyone who likes a sad story.

Best Novel ever!

This book was read to me by my sixth grade teacher. By the end, no one had a dry face but everyone really enjoyed it. I would reccommend it to anyone, young or experienced, because it has great incite into the prejudices people have about challenged people. I have read a lot of books since (I am now in grade 10) but this story has had an impact on my life. I consider it the best novel I have ever read.

Full of emotion!

Has to be one of the greatest books ever! You will love the characters, and enjoy guessing what happens next. Strong Stoyline, you won't be able to put it down until you're through. Good for people of all ages- this book will make you think. If you like reading about people with disabilities- or even if you don't- this book is sure to have a place in your heart. Keep some kleenex on hand too!
