A Definitive Book Dedicated to an Outstanding 007 Movie

Undeniably images of Timothy Dalton's cinematic version of James Bond have all but vanished from the film going public's consciousness. That being said, I would like to point out this marvelous book on the making of Timothy Dalton's second film as James Bond by Sally Hibbin. This is one of the best books dedicated to any single James Bond film from the series. It is very comprehensive and visual in its approach melding images with the spoken word for an effective and detailed look at how this forgotten Bond film was made. It is outstanding. I am so glad to see that it is still around. This film along with Timothy Dalton's stint as James Bond has been sorely forgotten. Never given proper recognition for his tenure as Bond this book is a splendid tribute to Timothy Dalton's two-film legacy and the entire production crew that made his second film.

Licence Definitely Renewed

This is an excellent book on the making of a James Bond film and there have been several over the years. Concerning the Timothy Dalton masterpiece, LICENCE TO KILL, this is the definitive written account of that film. It goes over every aspect and detail. It is profusely illustrated with over a hundred colour photographs. It even goes into details about the scoring of the film. This is the best "making of ..." on any James Bond film in the series. This is a must for every James Bond collector. This is really a great companion piece to the film. You can greatly appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into a Bond movie. It's not always clear sailing, but the Bond crew gets the job done. Read this fascinating and informative book. It is a great work on filmmaking in general and worthy of attention from students of the cinema. As for Bond fans LICENCE TO KILL deserves a retrospective. LICENCE TO KILL was either shunned or embraced by the fans. It has been 15 years since LICENCE TO KILL was released and it is slowly becoming a nostalgic entry in the James Bond series regardless of how one received it as part of that genre. In many ways Timothy Dalton and this film set the stage for Brosnan's tougher approach to the character. This book is truly a fascinating look at the film.
