The Magic Coin

In the third grade I picked up the Magic Coin off the shelf and thus began my love affair with reading. Before this book I hated the written word, it was a struggle to get me through a chapter. I had a terrible time learning to read and found books boring and uninteresting. However, once I entered the amazing world that Ruth Chew created, I was hooked. After I finished reading every Chew book I could get my hand on, I continued to feed my new love, a love that continued throughout my childhood and into my adulthood. From the bottom of my heart I thank Ruth Chew for giving me the greatest gift possible, a window into the wonderful world of literature.
