I'm not very objective when it comes to romance novels I love. By far I do not have a favorite Mackade story; I love them all! I like the way Nora Roberts makes each character unique in their own way but they're all good people deep down. The Mackade brother stories are exceptional and heartwarming. The characters evolve and the stories always begin with a piece of their childhood and continue on with the present. Even though the women they're linked with come from completely different backgrounds they are all determined women. Cassie and Savannah have had a rough upbringing while Regan and Rebecca have had a silver spoon advantage.

wonderful book and story because it is a series and we have more to read - excellently developed characters and exciting store - and a happy ending - the best part.
You'll never forget the MacKade's!!

These two stories featuring Devin with Cassie and Shane with Rebecca, are my two personal favorites of the series. They are well written and have a well drawn out story line and characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development with the other MacKades and what has been happening to them in the meantime. Ever since I was first introduced to Cassie in Rafe's story, I had wanted to read her story. I was not disappointed in the least, for it far surpassed my expectations, since the first two stories were rather average yet still good. Devin is by far my favorite MacKade, I think every woman wants a man like him. And Cassie was a charmingly lovely heroine for Devin. Just perfect together. 5/5 stars Shane...well there's not another one like him. When I first started to read about the MacKades, I wasn't that interested in him, but as the series continued, I got more and more intrigued. Rebecca is delightful as the woman that finally reels the wild Shane in. The interactions between these two are interesting to say the least. 5/5 stars I'd say to read them in order, as to get to know everyone from the beginning and the history. The ghost element in all four stories is interesting how she integrates it with the characters and their emotions and experiences. I'd like to see sequels featuring an adult Connor, Bryan, and maybe Emma. Don't miss these brothers and their loves, once you read about them, you'll never forget 'em! Note: This review is posted twice because this is the account I now use (I don't know why I had more than one!), but the other review has a comment so I didn't want to delete it. :)
The BEST Two of the Four Brothers

Devin and Shane's stories are the best of the MacKade quartet. I especially liked Devin's story. I think the love and dedication he expressed for Cassie was beyond romantic. His relationship with the children was so sweet, it was another story in itself. I've read their story several times. I just can't get enough of a strong man putting everything on the line to win his love.
