Tolkien's books continue to be bestsellers decades after their original publication. Jane Chance's critical appraisal of Tolkien's heroic masterwork is the first to explore
Jane Chance's critical work gives voice to many issues raised in Tolkein's Lord of the Rings that I had simply never considered before. I found that the book to be an extremely stimulating read. While the dedicated Tolkein fanatic (like myself) may find several small factual errors in Chance's text, these do not detract from the original perspectives offered therein. Bravo for the fresh voice.
