A boy and his piglet Lucy - a story to make you smile!

This classic book is from 1987 is still cute book about a young boy named Michael and a little piglet whom he named Lucy. She was the smallest piglet in her litter. Michael adored Lucy and brought her home to his house. This cute story is timeless and young child and their favorite pet. The photos are nicely done and the clothing doesn't date the book which is also nice. And like the other reviewer said it's nice to have a book that doesn't have "bad" people. Great for younger children. This book would also be a cute book to include for children celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Boar / Pig. Every year I like to include a book both fiction and non fiction for her to learn about the animal of that year's zodiac.

Phoebe Dunn

These are the greatest little books. The whole series is great. My 3 and 1/2 year old is very bright but gets easily overwhelmed and anxious. Books with evil characters or plots that have the character's in great strife really bother her. She loves these little books. They are engaging without being threatening. The photographs are bright and cheery and leave her with a very calm feeling. They are great little books for reading aloud before bed time.

Judy Dunn makes the sweetest books for children

I love all of Judy Dunn's picture books for children. She tells them with honesty and in an interesting way. Her photographs are precious! Kathy in Las vegas

Lucy the pig

I enjoy all these books by Judy Dunn, as does my 2-year-old. The stories are not particularly scintillating, but I've noticed that my daughter finds events and experiences in the book that interest her greatly or that she can relate to. I also like the fact that there is a little more text on each page and slightly higher vocabulary level for toddlers, while the interesting photos keep them engaged. Plus it seems most kids love animals, so we haven't gone wrong with any of these in the series. They're just very gentle and enjoyable reading. (As well, my daughter enjoys the fact that the piglet has the same name as she does.)
