came as described very pleased

I loved this book as a kid

A train that doesn’t give up

This book is a positive tale and u live it because he persevered and it is good for our kids to see this,

Missing pages

I’m surprised to see, based on other reviews, that I’m not the only one that was missing a few pages. Super unfortunate bc my son really likes the pages we have! I will probably reorder bc it’s such a classic.

Not what I thought it was

This book was really big - more than 12x12 size - and also had deceptively similar cover art to the original children’s book I read as a kid. However the inside is nothing like it. I didn’t know they had redrawn the series and was searching around on a nostalgia kick for different books out there. I really loved this story when I was younger, but it’s just not the same, so I can’t connect with it. Guess I’ll have to donate this one.

Very Good = Failing Binding

The binding is about to go which is disappointing for a book that's supposed to be "very good."

Missing several pages

It was missing the first few pages and the last pages. Very disappointing

Abridged version missed the critical part

I ordered the board book version which turned out to be abridged, and it spent tons of time on the build up to the little engine and then totally glossed over the most important part, of the little engine overcoming the challenge.

It's a book about helping and empathy

I purchased this for my mom for mother's day because she has fond memories from her childhood of this book but no longer has a copy. I am purchasing a second copy for my granddaughter now because while it is a book about positive thinking and persistence, it is also a book about helping others who need our help out of empathy for them even when it is difficult to do so.

Very good.

Very good book I recommend it for any child who is very young for instance a few years.

The Little Engine That Could

This precious little book I first read as a young kid. And I remember the inspiration that it gave. It was quoted in the autobiography that my oldest son wrote about me years ago. And I want each great grandchild to have a copy of it.

Writing inside cover

The book was in great shape, but there Names written in the front cover.

Teaches a lesson

I like this book because it teaches my kids that when you don't think you can't do something all you have to do is try. You can turn your can't to I can.

Good book

Only problem with copy I rec'd: a few pages were torn out; luckily they were in the book so all I need to do now is tape them in.

Excellent book

I bought this book for my son. He was very glad to get it because he just loves the story about the Blue Little Engine that Could and its phrase "I think I can, I thought I could". We read this book every night every time a different story from 7 of the most popular stories in this book.

Daughter likes it !

My husband loves reading this classic to our daughter and she loves reading along! A classic.

Better than toys

Santa brought this book to go with a train table for my 3-year old this Christmas. He made us stop to read it to him TWICE while we were opening presents. On the day after Christmas, he was chanting "I think I can...I thought I could..." all over the house. He just loves the illustrations because they show the differing personalities of the various trains so vividly.

What a great book!

Trains, most kids love them and mine is no different. What a great story this is - a true classic and if you don't have it in your library, shame on you! When the little engine gets up the hill, it's just really neat to see the expression on little ones' faces as the engine takes the toys and food to the kids that are in need. Even Dumbo's train says, "I think I can, I think I can..." What a timeless message for everyone and a great way to teach kids the importance of helping one another.

Many memories will be shared over a good book, starting with the time-honored tradition of the bed-time story. Who here remembers begging their parents to read just one more book? "I promise I will go right to bed after the next one;" "I'm not tired yet;" "But I really like both of the books. I don't want to choose." Do any of these sound familiar?
