great book

big thumbs up

Not so little

Louis Kincaid is doing that one thing we've all done and lived to regret - a favor for a friend. He's looking into the death of man, a man found without his head out in the swamps not all that far from Palm Beach. As Louis pokes around, he uncovers another death, another young man without a head. Nobody wants these two deaths to be related, and still, they most certainly are. The clues keep pointing to the rich and powerful. Louis doesn't want to go there, for so many reasons, but he can't be the man he is and stay out of it. This is the 10th book by Parrish, and she just keeps getting better. There are so many little deaths in this book, not necessarily connected to each other but all, in some manner, connected to Louis. While it isn't necessary to read the books in order, doing so will make some of the obvious connections even more poignant and/or meaningful to the reader.

Another great book for the sisters

This was another great reading adventure. Read all their books and I believe this was my favorite. It's not a cookie cutter story. I don't know how many times I started a book that I felt like I've read this before. Same type of thriller just different place and different people but not so with this one. Hooked from page one and it never lets up until the end.

P. J. Parrish has once again written a suspenseful and fascinating mystery with THE LITTLE DEATH. Louis Kincaid is back once again on the trail of a cold blooded killer who just might be a person with political power. A headless dead body has turned up in a cattle pen sixty miles away from mesmerizing Palm Beach in a small town called Devil's Garden. Reggie Kent, the corpse's best friend, is an escort who often has to turn down clients he is so popular. Until fingers begin pointing to Reggie and doors begin to close to him. Reggie engages the help of Louis Kincaid when another deceased and beheaded cadaver is found. Louis begins his investigation with the help of his best friend, Mel Landata. The person responsible is immediately thought to be a female senator whose career has been rocked with scandal. With the bodies piling up and no clear end of the investigation in sight, Louis works tirelessly to somehow connect Palm Beach with the rundown cattle ranch. The only problem? Palm Beach homeowners are more than ruthlessly silent. They are deathly quiet about their business and like to keep it that way. Unbeknownst to Louis and Mel, the killer has patiently found their way right under Louis's radar and has sadistically set its sight on Louis's best friend. This was the first P.J. Parrish book I have ever read and I can faithfully say it won't be the last. The suspense and mysterious elements of this well-written thriller shine over and over through the pages. Louis's character is one I won't soon forget - especially given the ending of THE LITTLE DEATH. His investigative style, moxie, and innate goodness is something that definitely makes Louis Kincaid a hero. Thrilling, powerful, and with just the right amount of riddles and graphic edginess, THE LITTLE DEATH is a keeper. I can't wait to see Louis Kincaid's next assignment! Natalie S.

Great book!

This was the first book I read on my Kindle and WOW what a great book. I did not want to stop reading. I have read all the other PJ Parrish books and this one is equally great!

They just keep getting better!

The Little Death by P.J. Parrish The newest Louis Kincaid book out now! I got a sneak peak, and wow what a ride! Mel has a friend in Palm Beach that needs help. He's accused of killing his boyfriend. Mel takes Louis along to help figure out who really did it. The mystery is soon complicated by more bodies, many more suspects and very un-accommodating law enforcement. They do have one cop that is willing to help, Lt. Swann, and I hope we haven't seen the last of him. He was a great character. There are quirky rich women, irate husbands, illegal aliens, cowboys, an actual sex scene for Louis, and so much more. This has a mystery that will keep you guessing to the end and the ending will floor you! This is an outstanding mystery that you won't be able to put down. The Parrish sisters are on a roll and keep getting better and better. Put this on your list of MUST READS! Best book of 2010!
