Good book

I thought it was a great book and William does another superb job of drawing in the reader for a different type of story. Mr. Johnstone does a super job in describing and story telling. And leaves some to the imanigation of the reader. He had an excellent grasp of military jargon. In the end Terry K. wasn't invicible contrary to belief. I think most readers were disappointed at the end but none can say that is wasn't an exciting read. As they obviously finished it. :-)

Excellant

I love this book, it was excellant, I felt once again Johnstone was proving a point about liberal biases, Johnstone is my favorite writer and so far I have loved everything that he was written and I liked the Terry Kovak charecter becouse he was strong and determined but we got to see what he was really like and he was clearly 3 dimionional, I highly recommend this book to all and also all of Johnstones books including the ever popular "ashes" Series

the best yet

i beleive that this book is the bet yet ecause it contains a great deal of action and the fact that teh government is spurns him for doing it's dirty work and the fact that some of his own family spurns him makes him just about all alone and thatis what i like

A good paced book.

This book is one of the best. I like to think of myself as a well read person. This book starts off with a good start and it just gets better from there. The main character Terry is a troubled youth who finds his life in the way of a goverment killer. They train him and shape him to "their" way. This book starts off in the 1950's and it goes through Terry's life. I thought this book to be one of the best Johnstone has written and I hope that their is a sequal made.

Kovak slips into your mental fantasy of dangerous adventure

I have read all of Johnstone's "ashes" series, several of his adventure books, and two of his horror stories. "The Last of the Dog Team" is his best effort. This was an engrossing, hard to put down book. My only complaint was that it should have been longer. While I do enjoy the "ashes" books for light reading, in all honesty, they fall short in character believability and plot development. "Dog Team" is a more serious work with good characters, an intestesting plot, and a logical flow. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it wholeheartedly. I hope Mr. Johnstone writes more like this... perhaps a sequal for the special ending
