The Last Chance Cowboy

Colorado Cowboys series has become among my favorite series written by Jody Hedlund. The Last Chance Cowboy is the fifth and final installment from it. I adored this book so much. I loved the chemistry between Catherine and Dylan and it was so heartwarming how much they bonded over precious Austin. I had no problem devouring their whole story in one sitting. Such a beautiful tale of love, hope, faith and forgiveness. I am giving The Last Chance Cowboy a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean historical fiction. As always, I am looking forward for more by Jody Hedlund in the future. I am so excited for the next series to release later this year. I received a paperback copy of The Last Chance Cowboy from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

A Cowboy Love Story

Dylan is like the prodigal son returned home. After living a wayward life in Chicago, he has decided to come home to turn his life around and has stepped up to be the Sheriff in the small town near his families ranch. He learns quickly that he can't outrun the consequences of his past mistakes when Catherine suddenly enters his life…and she did not come alone.. she's brought his son! Only she’s not who he thinks she is and she has secrets of her own. This book was a good ending to the series although I would have loved an epilogue to have a little more closure. I enjoyed getting to know all of the McQuaid family and watch them grow. I was provided a copy of the book from the author/publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Jody hits number 5 outta the park

Catherine is a midwife in Chicago who is not shy at all about where she goes when a woman is in need. But, this time while helping Kat have a child she looses the mother and is left with the child. The mother has given her a journal and a note to take to the father and then leave the child with him. Dylan McQuaid lived the wild life in Chicago but returned home to Colorado in order to work hard and make something of himself. Imagine his surprise when Catherine shows up with his son and says she is bringing him his baby. Catherine has traveled from Chicago after witnessing something horrible and being accused of the crime but knowing she did not commit it. She knows the man who did but he is very powerful and she feels she will be sent to jail so delivering the baby comes in handy. What she doesn't expect is that in the time it takes her to get to Dylan she has fallen in love with the little boy so when Dylan mistakes her for the mother she goes along with it. So start's a series of events that will pull them apart and bring them together as for the child's sake there is a hasty wedding and then a time to know each other. Will they be able to pull off this hasty and shame of a marriage when Dylan finds out the truth? This is book 5 in the series and I have enjoyed all the brothers and sisters of the family as we have watched the original group grow. Jody is a master story teller and leaves no stone unturned when telling her tales. A must read and one that will be so inspiring. Loved reading it in front of the fire on a cold Sunday afternoon.
