Great allegory!

I read this twice and the second time was where I really got revelation of the allegory the story depicts. The story was so tantalizing that the first read was a fly-through to see how it would all end. I have shared this with friends and they all loved it as well! The intricacy of the story is woven in a way that takes the reader into the journey with the characters. I would rate this one alongside Ted Dekker's circle trilogy and others.

Empty Houses

This book is totally different in the aspect that it say's things the adverage today type person wouldn't say. The Babblers in the book are very interresting, and Deborah is very stout and remains strong in her faith, even in the eye of death and Father delivers her. This book I believe would reach out even to the unbeliever and cause them to think about a few things in light of the way this story is told. I wish I could give a copy to a deathrow inmate I know in San Quentin, he's a devil worshipper, but I bet this would even touch his heart.

Well written and exciting.

I brought this book not realizing it was both "Christian" and "science fiction" I was surprised at the ability of the writer to pull me into the landscape, as I live in the Bitterroot area of Western Montana. John Moore does an excellant job of bringing his "Daniel" and Daniel's world to life. The groups left after world wide disasters are believable to a western mindset. Some of them live here now. As to the Christian message, I say "well done". I will be looking at more of this writers work.

real thoughtprovoking and intriguing!

This book captures your attention from the very beginning. The characters come to life and even when you put it down you are thinking of the faith of the girl with the beautiful eyes... It provoked me to desire a deeper walk with God...to have only one purpose to tell others about Jesus and their eternal salvation, to move into such a relationship with God that I would love not my life unto death and care only about others finding Christ. What a movie this would make!

A great read and definately not your run-of-the mill book.

I've read a lot of Christian fiction, and after a while the themes get a little tiresome. I find myself looking for something with more creativity. This was definately creative. John Moore's descriptions brought the characters to life. And I must say, in the Christian field of authors, his writing is powerful and fresh. I say Hoorah to John Moore for finding the courage to speak in a different and stronger voice than what is traditionally acceptable in Christian fiction. I'd like to see more of this kind of writing.
