The Crusades during the Reign of Baldwin IV.

What to read first: Queen of Swords by Judith Tarr covers the events that occurred during the Reign of Queen Melisande and her son Baldwin the III that precede this novel. Not essential, just a suggestion. Loved this last of the novels of Sharon Kay Pennman that precedes the events of her Novel Lionheart, which is the novel to read after. If you like Ken Follett, Bernard Cornwell, Collen McCullough you should like this. Both assessable and accurate with heros that you root for and despicable villains realistically portrayed. It more than measures up to her previous novels. It also gives an objective viewpoint of the Moslem opposition led by Saladin. Touches the Heart and has you thinking "If Only Baldwin IV wasn't afflicted with Leprosy."
