I purchased this book on a whim from a local bookstore and I'm so glad I did! It's a wonderful little book. I started embroidering my own dish towels a few years ago, a tradition that I knew went back to the 1930s. This book has given me a new appreciation for my craft, although it must be pointed out that the book is more about the tradition of kitchen linens than about specific how-tos. It is beautifully photographed and very inspiring, and I love the vintage iron on transfers included in the back of the book.

Thank you Ellynanne for another beautiful treasure in book form. You made me more aware of the value of these vintage linens and how timely! I just found some embroidered linens in my mother's things. After she passed away in Oct '08, I have been slow in going thru her things. I decided to do one box at a time and I found these lovely linens (table scarves - why dont we use these any more??) starched and folded just so. I thank you again for a lovely book!
