My son loves these. We came across Genesis at the library one time, and after that I had to buy them all. It tells the stories in language simple enough for a 4-year-old to understand, but does not dumb down the concepts at all, and doesn't skip that many details unlike other kids' bibles which gloss over so much you might as well not bother. This does mean that some parts are very boring for him, but that's what the book has, and now he knows it! Mostly he loves the stories. The extras are great too, and particularly handy around the relevant holidays. In our house, these books are frequent bedtime story requests. I find this totally incredible and absolutely fabulous. Other people I know send their kids to Sunday school, but I think that at this age (now 5), we don't need more than this set of books. I really recommend this for any Jewish child's library, and for non-Jews, too! I bought them one by one, but I highly recommend buying the set of 5 - it's cheaper that way.
The Jewish Children's Bible: Genesis

My kids (5-1/2 and 8-1/2) love this book. We are in a rural area with not many other Jewish children to share experiences with. This book is very readable, close enough to Book I, yet a little literary license to keep it entertaining and flowing for youngsters.
