An Incredible Thought Provoker

I have spent a fairly large part of a long life in Sunday School, church,Bible Classes, college courses, and daily reading of the Bible and myriad magazine, tracts etc. But never have I experienced a deeper mind shaking treatise on faith and understanding of what Jesus was doing and intended while he taught his disciples and listeners/observers during his time on earth as described in the 4 gospels. My understanding of passages I never could comprehend before is wonderfully satisfying and truly exhilerating. I haven't stopped thinking about it, and doubt I ever will.

Jesus I Never Knew Study Guide

The study guide is an excellent resource for anyone facilitating small group discussion on Yancey's book. The suggestions for how to enhance the discussion are doable, and a variety of options are presented. The study guide is well worth the price.

Great Study Guide

While I was in Seminary school, the book was used for a class about Jesus and who He really is. This guide helped me tremendously. In the future, I plan to get the entire teaching package, including the videos.

A must read for all

A great book to cut through all the ideas of one group or church. It is above all the preconceptions of Jesus, and presents a person that is very mesterious and difficult to pigeon hole. A great book for anyone upset with the state of the christian church or christianity as a whole. It ponders questions like why christians are so condesending of those who are in most need of help. Again, a must read for all.

A literary treasure chest.

This is a "sign post" book that forces you stop and evaluate your perspective of Jesus, His life and teaching. Yancey is a wordsmith with a style that is both honest, probative, and enlightening. This is a revitalizing must-read for Christians, especially those wishing to enhance their accompanying biblical examination, but meaningful for non-believers as well. Like all books of this genre, its pages should be evaluated through the framework of scripture, but I see no conflict here. What I find is a refreshing examination of Christ which broadens rather that disorients one's understanding and relationship with Him. One thing is for certain: you'll get your money's worth from this literary treasure chest as it merits reading, rereading, underscoring, and lending out - just make sure that your friends return it.
