Great...but there are some unanswered questions

I give this book four stars because there are a lot of answered questions and the book ends quit suddenly as if the author just gave up and decided to end the book. ***Warning Spoilers**** In this book "The Ivory Duchess," otherwise known as Katie, is being forced to play the piano to support her relatives who don't give her a penny of her money. She then runs away one night and comes to a house that is looking for a boarder who will teach piano. Unknown to Kate, a detective is hired by Katie's relatives to help track her down. The relatives tell the detective that Katie has stolen their priceless brooch and they need it back, which is a lie. Anyway, long story short the detective finds Katie and falls in love with her. Well, the book ends suddenly after that, with two surprises, one involves Katie, and the other involves the two sisters that Katie is living with. ``Katrina

I LOVED THIS BOOK!

What an unusual take and perceptive insights Ms. Parr offered in this book. I read it and enjoyed it so much I just started over and read it again. It's definitely going on my keeper shelf!

Well-written

This book was very well-written but unfortunately I had a couple of unanswered questions. What I really liked about this book was that fact that the characters weren't exaggerately beautiful as most characters in other books are. They are normal people. The heroine Kate is upset because she is a concert pianst who plays anonymously. Phillip is just trying to restore a past debt by bringing Kate back. My only complaint is that the whole plot ends quite suddenly.
