This is a good book for young people who are interested in the Inuit (Eskimo) people. The five chapters look at the land, history, culture, interaction with Europeans and Euro-Americans, and some contemporary issues. While the history doesn't include the Inuit understanding of their own origins, the book does include some poetry and pictures of artifacts that give a sense to the Inuit worldview. The pictures (both color and black and white) are good. This is a good book to begin researching the Inuit and includes a short dateline, a glossary and a nice bibliography.
