This is a wonderful book on indoor gardening. I thought I had read them all, until I bought this one. The author delves into topics I have not encountered in any other indoor gardening book -- topics that expand my ability to create the look I want with plants. The subtitle, 'Creative Displays for Every Home' helps you create the total decorating look you desire through plants. The author touches on the history of indoor gardening -- and does a fascinating job with the topic, moves on to discuss using plants in groups, plants for bright light, plants best for shade, how to handle too much heat in a home environment, use of climbers and trailers, decorating with bromeliads, and the use of orchids. In a section entitled 'Practical Matters', the author discusses light, temperature, humidity, watering, feeding, composts & repotting, training and shaping, and pests and diseases. To complete the book, he also adds a section on suggested further reading, societies which nurture plant interests, Listing of Suppliers in England and the U.S., as well as a listing of biological pest control suppliers, and nurseries that supply a variety of plants. Throughout the book, the author uses color photographs to further enhance his explanations. A very well written book, an easy and enjoyable read on the topic of indoor gardening, and a very helpful reference on plant arranging to create desired mood and effects.I would highly recommend this to both beginner and advanced 'plant lover.'
