The House That Love Built

The House That Love Built: The excellent true story of the greatest example of totally selfless dedication to humanity, not for any reward of recognition, but strictly for the sake of giving.

"The House That Love Built"

This is incredible love story that spans a period of time of over 50 years, I have watched the carrer of Bette Young from writing self-help books for our teenage population which I read while raising two teenage boys to this incredible love story...as she has proven in the past she has some awesome & incredible literary skills...This is one of those great books of our time that one can relate to and once you start reading it is hard to put down...I highly recommend to all...

Don't miss this page-turning, important book

If you only read one biography in your life--this is the one! Bettie Youngs has done a masterful job catching the heart and passion of one of the most important world-impacting passionaries alive today: Millard & Linda Fuller. The story of how they started the two largest home building nonprofits in the world is awesome (Habitat for Humanity and The Fuller Center for Housing which Millard started at age 70!)This biographical love story spans 50 years and weaves Southern charm with the force of two people committed to ending poverty housing in our world. Enjoy every page. Barbara Metzler, author of "Passionaries: Turning Compassion into Action"

A Most Inspiring Read!

I work with Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal and I was at the meeting described in the book where Millard Fuller and others launched the effort in Shreveport to build houses for Hurricane Katrina evacuees. Not only did Millard lead us in singing "Higher Ground," but he also had us stand on chairs to do it! It felt a bit awkward at first. But by the end of that meeting, I was as inspired as I have ever been. I knew something special was about to happen in our city and indeed it has! Two years later, reading the book has inspired me all over again. It provides a new insight into an amazing life through anecdotes, quotes and detailed accounts of both heartwarming and painful chapters in the Fullers' ministry to others. Most of us in the Fullers' position would have quit or given up after they were fired by Habitat. Not this couple. They just put down the old hammer, picked up a new one and kept on building! Not just building houses, but building hope. If you feel like you've ever been treated unfairly and wanted to give up: Read this book! I highly recommend it, but I do so with this warning: Don't be surprised if you find yourself volunteering for the next Fuller Center blitz build after you finish reading it!

Incredible story

The House That Love Built is an incredible story of love, selflessness, determination and faith. Bettie Youngs is an amazing writer. This is a book that you can't put down!
