Lumley opens new doors to Sci-Fi...

This book had the distinction of being the first Brian Lumley novel that i ever read, and I am happy to say that it is not going to be the last. "House of Doors" was a thoroughly engrossing novel that kept me reeled in page after page. At first the concept was a little hard to understand, but once I understood what the idea was, i had a wonderful time with this novel. So, we have a group of people that are lead by a man named Spencer Gill, that are trapped within a structure called the House of Doors, that is really a intergalactic funhouse of sorts, that is said to be larger on the inside than it is on the out. I thought that this novel was a fun ride into the sci-fi genre, and a very good work into the fears and nightmares that sometimes trap us all. I found myself rooting for the characters who seemed like believable person, and it was a great read. I highly recommend it.

Perfect blend of Sci Fi and Horror

This book is pure genius. I could not put it down which is becoming the norm when I am reading Brian Lumley. The group of "explorers" each experience their own deepest fears in a world made just for that purpose and they experience each others worlds also. The human race is on trial and it is a hung jury. Spencer demonstrates his superior mental and moral qualities and gets to the bottom of this mystery. Very well detailed scenarios and characters help to captivate you and envelop you in Brian Lumleys imagination. What a great book, I wish there was a number two to read.

WOW!

After reading Necroscope I picked this one up and was utterly amazed. Not only are they very different books, but Brian Lumley's ability to capture and hold me did not diminish from one to the other. House of Doors was a readers trap from the beginning to the end and it was the best place to be. READ IT! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely Intriguing!

I had never read any of Lumley's books until I was given "House of Doors" by my sister. I couldn't put it down! Although I found it a little confusing because of all the twists in the plot, once I got into it (which didn't take long!) It was clearly amazing! I would nearly call it a work of Genius!

I loved this book because of its non-stop excitement!

The House of Doors is a non-stop thriller with many unexpected turns! The extent of the detail is amazing and allows the reader to get a perfect mental picture in their mind. The plot is a perfect horrer and science-fiction mix. I never read for fun but I did for this book.
