Deeply involving

What would two boys whose food is often in short supply or missing do to help themselves? And how do they provide care for people who should be caring for them? What do boys without functioning guardians do to exist in a grown-up world? These intriguing problems confront brothers in "The Hoarders." Characterization is what makes the problems interesting and involving. For young people, this would open up ideas well-cared-for readers might never have to consider or cope with. A book to discuss and to wonder about. And entertaining as well. Any age reader just has to find out how they cope with their problems.

Great for All Ages

If you've ever had a hard time finding a book for young boys, this one is a good one. It's about boys who are going through a hard time, first with their mom and then their aunt. It's so well crafted and the story is intriguing. It's something that I think boys will really enjoy. At the same time, although it's a juvenile book, it will appeal to readers of all ages and genders. Because of the writing style and the story, you'll find yourself pulled into what is happening with Joaquin and Cheyenne, wondering how they got into that situation and if they'll be okay in the end. You really care for the characters and feel for them as they hoard their food, worried about not having enough to eat, and as they try and help their aunt. I suggest reading the first bit by clicking on "Look Inside" and see for yourself what I mean.
