i enjoyed this book less for the heaven's gate cult material that it contains (which is very little -- someone looking for an in-depth treatise on that cult will probably be disappointed) & more for the information it contains on satan, demons & exorcism. the last 2 chapters in particular, "Was Exorcism Needed?" & "How to Free People from Deception," i think, are well worth the price of the entire book. (i get tired of reading books that promote the idea that exorcism is a highly-complicated, ritualized procedure that only highly-trained professionals [in other words: pastors & priests] should ever dare perform -- this book effectively dispels that out-dated notion.)this is a good book for the non-believer who wants to learn more, or the believer who wants to understand better how to lead their friends & loved ones to the saving power of jesus christ. (perhaps this book was misnamed? the material on the heaven's gate cult just seems to be the loose framework holding together the author's deeper theological material. a good book nonetheless -- very readable!)
