this is a great story. with a heroine that doesn;t need to be beligerent to be strong. A hero that takes a while to get a clue, but when he does he is quickly enlightened. The secondary character were endearing and really added to the story.

This was my first James book

Julia James is a good romance writer. So many of these books are insubstantial and they describe impossible situations with handsome men. In that respect, James' novels run true to form. However, her diction and her plot development give her novels something more compelling than the usual run of romance novels. I realized at the end of this novel that James has true writing ability, which is sometimes lacking in other Harlequin novels.
