Life aint easy...but this book helps!

From the very beginning this book held my interest. An easy read. Sentences not too long. I am in my mid-fifties, and the author states that if the reader is in the late stages of their life, this book may not be for them. But he has great topics like, 'Good News for Non-Runners'; 'Good News for Weak Knees'; and ''Runners Already Finished'. This book gives the discouraged, new hope. This book gives the tired, new strength. This book gives the disillusioned, new focus. So put on your running shoes. 'Run With Speed, Without Weights'. 'Run With Endurance'. Remember we are all running our own race. 'Your Race is Not My Race'. If you can read this book and finish it without a tear in your eye, then you have not been 'Running after Love'. For we all have baggage, and bruises, and scars, and pain...but when we learn to master those infirmities and use them to our advantage, then we win. And finish...The Great Human Race!

Fills you with the desire to become more Christ-like

As a member of Knute's Akron congregation who is now away at college, pulling out this book makes me feel like I have him right in my dorm room giving me a personal sermon. In his unique way, he takes a topic that could be difficult to understand and explains it in a beautiful and simple way. As a fellow runner, I think it is wonderful to have a book that meshes my two passions (Christ and running). Thanks to Knute for creating such an enjoyable and inspiring read. It truly does make you desire to run this human race in order to get the prize waiting for us in the end-eternal life with our heavenly father. Also, I've seen Knute finish the Labor of Love run...this man is a hard core runner!

This book Encouraged Me.......

As a parishoner of the Chapel in Akron, I have the priviledge of hearing Mr. Larson preach on a regular basis. He is humorous, down-to-earth, but he also doesn't sugarcoat the gospel. He tells it as is. His writing style is much the same as his speaking...honest, real-life situations that you can relate to. I read this book at a bad time in my life and was greatly encouraged by it. Life is much like a race...are we gonna get lazy and stop and watch others run by, or are we gonna run for the goal: Heaven and Christ. I highly recommend this book and any other book by Knute. I've heard Chuck Swindoll, David Jeremiah, Hank Hennagraff, Greg Laurie, and Knute is definately on par with these other great men of the faith. Don't give up on your race.....
