Short stories, each presented in a split sequence: the first leaves the reader on the verge of horror; the second presents an ordinary explanation for the situation. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is a collection of four not-so-scary stories, all written in the second person ("you look through the door..."). Each story runs until it hits a particularly frightening line, at which time the reader is directed a number of pages forward, where you realize that what was going on was not as sinister as you believed. The four stories are: 1) The Graveyard, where you and your friends end up regretting a late-night stroll through a graveyard; 2) All Alone, where a night at home with only your little brother for company gets downright frightening; 3) The Haunted House, your visit to the scary house of your uncle, Dr. Franklin N. Styne, turns out to be much different than you thought it would; and 4) Spiders and Snakes, where you help your father at work - the Reptile House at the Zoo!These stories are all quite fun: scary at times, but always turning back into funny stories. My kids liked this book and highly recommend it to you.
