Who is Going to Win?

The Girls Take Over is the eighth book in a series written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. These books take place in Buckman, West Virginia. The series starts off when the Bensons move out of their house and go to Georgia. The Hadford boys, who had been very good friends with the Benson boys, knew the Malloy (the people who were moving it) had KIDS! They assumed it was boys and they got all excited. When they found out it was three girls, they decided to play tricks on the Malloy girls. In the book The Girls Take Over the Hadford boys and the Malloy girls are going at each other. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor makes these fights between the boys and girls really hilarious. How the girls play tricks on the boys and how the boys try to get the girls back. Is when the Hadford boys and the Malloy girls have to clean the jail, the Malloy girls find a way to make fun of the Hadford boys. The bragging between them, the tricks and traps, the urge to seize power is what really makes them strike again and a again. Will their fighting ever stop? You just have read to find out.

The Girls REALLY DO Take Over!

The book I am reviewing is The Girls Take Over by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. I think this book deserves five stars. It is excellent. This book is about three girls who move to a town and four boys who walk to school with the girls. One day they decide to have a race where they have to put a note in a bottle. The note tells the person who finds it to call and tell them where they found the bottle. They drop the bottle in a stream. Whoever's bottle gets the farthest would be boss to the rest for a day. You would have to read it to find out the rest!! I recommend this book to everyone. Other books in this series by this author include The Boys Return, The Girls Revenge and a lot more! Great read aloud

This series remains my favorite read aloud for my family. The Girls Take Over certainly adds funny situations and plenty of "drama queen" Caroline escapades to make an enjoyable read. Interestingly enough, the plotline spawned a lot of comments from my four kids about fair play and using your common sense.

hey look at me on my profile

The girls take over for me was an ok book. Of course i am a girl so i would like the book. I think this book shows a good point of view from boys and girls. it shows what happens when boys are intimmidated by girls who try out for the baseball tem and make it. i think it is fun to see what boys would say and think about that. This book also diplays a sample of sibling rivalry. I think that any girls or boys really that are interested in rivalry between boys and girls would be pleased with this book. i hope you will read The Girls Take over by Sharon Creech.

Prepare for more laughs and unexpected twists

The Hatfield boys and Malloy girls are still competing; this time their conflicts range from racing bottles downstream - and a potentially dangerous spill - to wild ball games. Prepare for more laughs and unexpected twists as Naylor continues the ongoing story in such a manner as to invite newcomers to participate in the zany fun.
