The newest addition to The Hunger Games series came out to much fanfare last week. Sunrise on the Reaping, a prequel to Suzanne Collins's original trilogy, centers on a young Haymitch Abernathy on the dawn of his own reaping. When The Hunger Games came out in 2008, it was a smash hit, sparking a major trend in YA fiction.

Paramount Pictures has landed the rights for an upcoming adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, the first in the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy by Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi. The bestselling YA fantasy series is inspired by the author’s Nigerian heritage and offers timely, thought-provoking themes.
