4 stars, Diverse Dystopian Horror Jay and his friends are finishing up the school year and looking forward to a fun summer working at Karloff Country, a theme park. He and his friends all live on the property in the small community of Jubilee. The bad news is heard, outside their walls, and society has crumbled. Jay, his parents, and all of his friends are thankful to be safe at Karloff Country. Visitors start arriving at Karloff Country, the unfriendly, entitled types. Jay and his crew soon find out that this isn't a good thing for anyone who is personally associated with the park. This is categorized under #YA #youngadult but #imho it is age appropriate for ages 17 and up. There's no way I'd let my 12-year-old read this horror novel. My adult son would love it, though. #horror #diversehorror #dark #diverse #diversereads #diverseauthor #diversefiction I didn't care for the #coverlove I'm sure it appeals to lots of folks, though. It was a little too creepy for my taste. #trigger warning I did like the promotional notices peppered throughout the book, that mention the wonderful world of Karloff Country and how special the employees should feel to be there.
