One of the best demography books I have ever used.

This book is practically timeless! The formulas it contains cover just about everything you would ever need to do from a demographic standpoint. What is most rewarding is the practical approach the authors took in presenting the material. The scenarios and examples that they employ are practically exhaustive of the realworld problems demographers encounter in their work.
Best of the demography methods books

Plane and Rogerson are obviously professionals at the top of their field and it shows in their thorough explanations of current demographic analysis. Though it can get deep into some descriptions of some statistical outcomes, it doesn't leave out a thing. The various approachs to demographic methods and the background (why it's done this way) are all covered and the writing style is appropriate to the subject. I keep referring to this book to answer questions of clients who want to know "how it was done" when I give them their stats. I can highly recommend this book to anyone who is ready for the whole story on demographic research.
