It's often true, but I found this book to be superior to the movie version, and I thought the movie was good enough to buy. I'm a fan (now) of DeMille, thanks to the recommendation of co-workers. The General's Daughter is a murder mystery, and maybe not for the faintest of heart. The author is so descriptive that I easily pictured the people and scenes in my mind. This is a very satisfying read and though the murder case is kinky and unpleasant the writing and humor along the way will keep most readers reading. His partner, Cynthia Sunhill also of CID, adds repartee...
