The General's Daughter

The book was really a page turner. I loved it and am reading the next one Up Country and love it also

It's often true, but I found this book to be superior to the movie version, and I thought the movie was good enough to buy. I'm a fan (now) of DeMille, thanks to the recommendation of co-workers. I am so glad that I read this book before I saw the movie, as it was so much better. The story is about the body of a girl who is found bound and naked on the firing range of an army base. To make matters worse she is the daughter of The General. With 164 other reviews here you don't need much from me. No, I'm not a large fan of Mr. DeMille but two of his books have caught my interest: this one and UP COUNTRY which coincidently have the same character, Paul Brenner. This is a very satisfying read and though the murder case is kinky and unpleasant the writing and humor along the way will keep most readers reading.
