Gene Smart Diet

For those of us wanting a research-backed health guide, this is it. Dr. Chilton brings in the science behind the nutrition to give a complete guide to fighting inflamation which is behind so many diseases and health issues. Our nation needs to wake up and hear what is being said in the field of nutrigenomics!

Everyone should read this book!

Dr. Chilton focuses on why the U.S. is facing an obesity epidemic. Everyone should read this book but particularly Americans b/c we have become addicted to food. With all the wrong food choices at our disposal we will never be healthy. We need to significantly reduce fast food restaurants b/c all they are doing is making people fat. The last "diet/health" guidance book you'll ever need to buy

Gene Smart is so much more than a diet book. It's scientifically based nutritional guidance on the key nutrients your body needs to avoid disease and stay healthy so you can enjoy life! Dr. Chilton helps you understand why we crave certain foods, why we overeat, why the USA is getting more and more over weight - and what the solution is to stop the obesity train wreck. By working with our genetic code, we can get healthy and help our kids get healthy before it's too late. I've never read such specific information on each of the Omega 3s and Omega 6s. I knew that consuming each of the Omega 3 oils was important, (which the book confirms) but I thought all types of Omega 6 needed to be decreased in the diet. The book explains that it's the Omega 6 oil, Linolaic Acid (LA), that we all get too much of. However, the Omega 6 oil, Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), is essential to promote health in many ways. Decreasing inflammation is so important and I'm glad that the author shares with us the science to back up why this is true (and he provides practical steps on how you can decrease inflammation through diet and exercise). We've all heard the BUZZ about how polyphenols are anti-aging - now we can see the research and know that it's worth it to start consuming more polyphenols through whole foods and supplementation. His website [...] is also a great resource for health tips, practical dieting advice, recipes and much more. I highly recommend this book!
