Great books.

Love this whole series that could read as a nonfiction. I grew up in the area where they travel and am familiar with their locations including the trip to Sandy Mush

Skip this book!

Book 1 in the series was good, but book 2 is a complete RE-HASH of book one, with only a small teaser of what might develop in book 3. Very disappointed in this book. A little leery of ordering book 3.

Even better than the first book of the series

This book marks the return to the beautiful community of Covington in the mountains of North Carolina. The three friends, Grace, Hannah, and Amelia, are well-settled in their renovated house and are enjoying life and their new friendships. Grace and her friend Bob decide to go into business together and they start a tearoom. Amelia pursues photography with her friend and mentor, Mike, but the friendship is disturbed when Amelia becomes attracted to a man named Lance. Hannah indulges her passion for flowers and gardening and works to keep developers out of their neighborhood. Difficult situations arise and the ladies learn to deal with them and with each other. Romances bloom, sometimes in unexpected ways. All in all, this is a very satisfying read and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Garden of Salvation

This is the second book in the Covington series. The Ladies of Covington Send Their Love: A Novel (Covington) This is a great series about three ladies who choose to live together and leave their retirement boardinghouse. The big problem in this story is encroaching development. Hannah becomes an environmental activist. I am amazed about the depth of the characters in this series. I can't wait to read the next book!

The Gardens of Covington

This is the second of a five book series. I liked it just as well as the first one. This gal knows how to write a wonderful story

The Gardens of Covington

What a delightful read! This series reminds me of The Mitford series by Jan Karon. I love the setting. As a displaced North Carolinian it brings back fond memories of that state! I enjoyed the book.

The big three

Our book club recently read three books which were outstanding (unlike the previous three that will go unmentioned . . .)At any rate, the ones we really liked were "The Life of Pi," Jackson McCrae's "The Bark of the Dogwood," and "The Gardens of Covington." Of the three, "Gardens" was our favorite, with "Dogwood" coming in second. All three are wonderful though. In addition, we're now reading "The Ladies of Covington" which we really should have read first as "Gardens" is a sequal to that one. But not to worry, for Medlicott's books can stand on their own--there's not a bad one in the bunch!!!
