Excellent review of West German "Economic Miracle"
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
The recovery of West Germany after World War II was always considered a miracle. However, there are very few books (at least in English) that explain how this "miracle" actually happened. This book is one of them. It concentrates specifically on economics and reforms of Ludwig Erhart. It's an easy read since the author is a journalist instead of an academic. This book is a great resource for anyone who is interested in economic development of modern societies, especially a transition to market-based economy from an authoritarian economy. The example of West Germany shows what works.
