Grandmother's remedies may have been the best, and this encyclopedia identifies which old fashioned cures have been proven effective by modern medical research, and which ones may be bogus. This description may be from another edition of this product.
It was said this book I purchased was in good condition. It is not, it's highlighted all over the place. Also, there one little blurb about anything to do with FOLK REMEDIES per chapter. I.E. chicken soup or a pomegranate for a cold and cough for the "Folk" part and the rest was about drink lots of fluids, get plenty of rest, wash your hands, etc. I believe this was falsely Advertised as for folk remedy's. It also states it is a hardcover but I received a paperback.

I like this book a lot, not only for the remedy tips, but also for the bits of trivia and other information. Easy to read. i like the fact that other health-related websites are also offered for additional information.

This was a gift for my mother. She uses the book daily for helpful tips for the entire family. I recommend this book to anyone that believes in old folk remedies.

The best part of this book to me is how easy it has been to find a natural way to cure ailments right in my own pantry, garden and even the neighborhood grocery.
