The Flavor of Jerusalem

I enjoyed reading this cook book as much as I enjoyed rediscovering some of the meals from my childhood.

Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cooking or just somebody who wants to try something different, this little book, published a few years before I was born, is a treasure trove of recipes contributed by residents of the Holy City. There are recipes by Jews (from everywhere in the world), Arabs (Christians and Jews), American expatriates, Ethiopians and more. And hey, my mom is in this book. She's the Burmese girl who serves the author some fried squash bits and tells them to eat with their fingers. Are they ever going to publish another edition of this book? I apologize for the tasteless "recipe" I posted before.

A wonderful book with an assortment of recipes that will delight the palate and take you through a journey of the people of Jerusalem. Judy Stacey Goldman is a wonderful guide and Joan Nathan is a wonderful cook - together they created a lovely little gem! Highly recommended.
