Book Overview

Pam Roswell Moore had her doubts when she interviewed to be companion of the much-loved author Corrie ten Boom. Corrie's bestselling book The Hiding Place, which recounted how she and her family had hidden Jews during World War II in Holland until their betrayal and arrest by the Nazis, had launched for Corrie a worldwide ministry of travel and speaking. Awed by the spiritual challenge this companionship posed, Pam wondered how she could keep up...

Delightful...God is never finished with His saints!

Pamela Moore tells us in her own words of her experience as the end-of-life companion for the extraordinarily courageous saint, Corrie ten Boom. I was deeply touched by this little book and was inspired to trust God to take care of His beloved children every single day of their lives on this planet. He has not forgotten us, even in our old age and our lonely or declining years. Our God is an awesome God and this book will have your heart singing praises from the first page.

The best remains, and the best is yet to be...

The life of Corrie ten Boom is in one word: amazing. She lived a life completely sold out for Jesus Christ, her Friend and Savior. Having gobbled up THE HIDING PLACE, IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE, and TRAMP FOR THE LORD, I had to know how the story ended. And in THE FIVE SILENT YEARS OF CORRIE TEN BOOM, Pamela Rosewell, the last companion to Tante Corrie, describes the final years of Corrie's life. The result is heartbreaking and triumphant. Rosewell begins her story when Ellen de Kroon is about to discontinue her service as companion to Corrie ten Boom, and Pamela takes her place. They travel the United States for some time, and finally settle down in Orange County, California. Corrie worked on a few book and film projects, and then the first stroke hit, leaving her without speech. The story is as much about Pamela's own growth in the Lord as it is about Corrie's final moments on earth. Be forewarned: there are moments that will evoke a lot of emotion. A handy tissue box might be a good companion as you move through the book. Definitely a wonderful addition to any Corrie ten Boom library.

For those who love the author Corrie ten Boom.

If you never read or met Corrie ten Boom, a popular Christian author in the 1970's-1980's, this is a good book to begin. Then get the DVD from Billy Graham films, "The Hiding Place" and purchase the book "Tramp for the Lord" - and hang on to your hat. Who would have thought a little old spinster and her sister along with an elder grandfather would have the adventure of their lives? And in the process teach us all lessons about the simplicity that Christian faith can be - and its strength when stripped of all pretense of religion. This work covers the last years of Corrie ten Boom's life, and is a beautiful story of the care given to a servant of God in her old age, a work about death and care for family that is frail, and the beauty of a homecoming of a this solid dutch lady. Corrie ten Boom was a favorite author to me in my teen years. This work provided a loving closure to her life and answered many questions - such as, how did she die? where did she go later in life when we did not here much about her? was she happy and at peace? and many others are answered in this carefully crafted and joyful work by Pamela Rosewell Moore.

Corrie ten Boom - My Inspiration...

How wonderful to know how Corrie lived her last five years on earth. Her only goal in life was to bring others to Jesus, who she loved and lived for. Her relationship with Jesus and how she lived is something we should all strive for. What an inspirational book. It was like Corrie herself was talking to me. Though she is now in heaven God still uses her to speak to us.

Last days of Corrie ten Bonn

I had always wondered how Corrie ended her days on Earth. This book is a well written witness of how she overcame difficult situations in her last days and how she never stopped showing God's love, even when unable to speak. A must reading for all those who love Corrie's books and a message to cheer us during difficult times.
