The 5 Love Languages Singles Edition: The Secret That Will Revolutionize Your Relationships

I was very excited to read the 5 Love Languages (Singles Edition), and everything from shipping and handling to delivery went smoothly. The problem was that the first 82 pages are missing. That's a third of the book. I'm a little disappointed in myself for not recognizing the problem earlier but more disappointed in the seller.

I think what's most imporant about this book is the way that it gets you ready to love. It's not just about dressing the part or whatever. It's about emotionally involving yourself before you even answer the door for your date. Also, it's about connections, making them and keeping them. This one really, really opened my eyes to what it means to pursue a romantic relationship and then what to do once I get one. It's worth having on hand, that's for sure. Don't pass it up, along with another that's also helped me out How To Be Wanted: Use the Law of Attraction to Date the Man You Most Desire and Live the Life You Deserve.

I had the original book on my wish list for some time, and then I found out about this book. Later, I saw a friend of mine from church who had a copy, and she said it was wonderful. So I immediately ordered my own copy. I was not disappointed. Seeing these insights led me to realize why it was that I preferred certain activities and certain behaviors in a relationship, and it leads me to explore what another could want from me. And since this is directed towards single adults, this seemed more applicable to my situation than the original. Now, a warning to the non-religious. Yes, this book quotes the Bible frequently. But instead of doing so with the intention of disguising a religious tract as a self-help book, the author does a masterful job of quoting scripture while staying marvelously on point, and he maintains the focus implicitly promised in the title-helping you improve your relations with others. If you are a single adult, read this book. Don't let the religious sprinklings turn you off. This book is valuable even if you ignore them.

Gary Chapman gives a great deal of insight to the human soul in this book. Even for those who have been conscious of the needs and emotions of the people around them will find new information and great advice. As the title suggests, Chapman really does define the love languages and help the reader break down the language barrier with those in his/ her life.

I work as a Relationship Counselor and as a Psychic and I have recommended this CD to others. I find it has messages that while not philosophical, are 'how to's" that can only enhance a relationship. If you are not very religious, you may need to overlook many references to chapter and verse, but this does not diminish the import of the content nor the sincerity in Gary Chapman's delivery. [...]
