The First Officer

The First Officer is excellent, exciting & brilliantly written. Weale’s ability to paint pictures of her characters & scenery, through words is second to none. I like how she describes clothing both in style & textures of fabrics. The two main characters make the reader feel compassion for them as they attempt to navigate their relationship. While you want a happy ending, you aren’t sure if the story could possibly end that way. Weale was a talented author, some of who’s, books were written over 50 years ago, are timeless. When you think of all of Weale’s books, her skiils could be compared with Margret Mitchell.
