Finally A Good Book

It has been a long time since I've found a good book. I have many works by Mr. Weber and this is one of his best. The plot of the book was very different and new and one that I found quite interesting. The book was exciting and easy to read but the last 50 pages started to decline. There was some discrepancies about the drug scene that was not accurate . I was somewhat disappointed with the ending but overall, this was overall very good.

The First Lady

It was a good book and different planning things after death. But I did like the ending I didn't see it coming.

Can you mind your own business?

THE FIRST LADY by Carl Weber begins with Charlene Wilson of First Jamaica Ministries on her deathbed. She is still young, but is ready to move on. Her only problem is who will be the first lady after she passes? She knows her husband, Bishop T.K. Wilson, is naïve and all the eligible women in the church will be after him. Along with her friend, Allison, she concocts a plan to help her husband choose the right woman. Charlene will write letters to each of the most eligible women and Allison, while keeping a careful watch on the Bishop's social activities, will deliver the letters as needed to the appropriate woman. Marlene, who had a love child with the Bishop when they were quite young, is one of the chosen. She was on drugs but is now clean. Also making the list is Monique Johnson, who has a way of rubbing all the women in the church the wrong way with her sexy clothes. Charlene has included Savannah Dickens, a shy, somewhat intimidated young singer, whose father is a high official in the church. The final entry on the list is Lisa Mae Johnson, the prim, proper, somewhat self-righteous widow of Pastor Lee Jones who knows without a doubt the position of being T.K.'s wife rightfully belongs to her. As you can imagine, the women are dumbfounded when they begin receiving letters from the deceased. As the women struggle to be 'the one', the competition brings its share of deceit, havoc and chaos. Who will emerge the winner and will Charlene be happy as she peers down from heaven? This is a well-written work by Carl Weber. He develops the characters so thoroughly, you are sure you've met them at your own church at some point. The plot has a brand new flavor with its own unique intrigue and suspense. Who can imagine getting letters from the dead? And once you do, how do you behave? THE FIRST LADY encompasses everything from hot steamy romance to deep dark mystery and even the cover is outstanding with its picture of a high-class lady. It is a book that you cannot put down once you start reading it. Reviewed by Alice Holman of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

One of his best.....

I've just finished one of my fav. authors. I JUST completed Carl Weber's new book "The First Lady"! That book was excllent! It was funny, inspiring, touching! It had a real life type of feel. Like something you could really see happing or even have seen something similar happen. It is very morden. He left you in suspense as to what the final outcome would be. I know I was highly surpised at the ending. Maybe I shouldn't have been, but I was.

WISH I COULD GIVE IT TEN STARTS!!!!!!!!

I read this book in two days and let me tell you although So You Call Yorself a Man is my Favorite by Mr. Weber this book was the bomb! Maybe I'm just not reading the same book as everyone else or perhaps some of you lesser authors are hating on a real writer but believe me this is a must read with all kinds of twist and turns. Can, you say Lisa May was a trip!!! Oh, and trust me you will never look at a pit bull the same after reading this book. Don't worry about the hate Mr. Weber you true fans got your back. Besides I hear you just made The New York Times again. :)

Couldn't put the book down.

I have know idea what book these other people were reading but this book was great. Carl Weber showed the human side of the church witout bashing the preacher and it was refreshing. Good job Mr. Weber. i look forward to your next work.
