At once philosophy, art, literature and mythology, this graphic novel is truly a labour of love. It is based on a tale by Stefan Zweig, which was read to Santiago as a child by his father. Retelling it 30 years later in a self-published book of pictures and text, it conflates naivete, sophistication, an ineffable sweetness, a sly humour and a colourul palette with no little touch of Santiago's native Mexico.
