An insightful, get-to-it book that every woman can benefit from.

At a crucial time in my life, this book helped me to see things differently and, more importantly, to DO things differently. The book focuses on aptitudes specific to women and the importance of being proactive in marketing your self and your strengths. After all, as the author points out, if YOU don't brand yourself, someone else will. The book is chock full of engaging stories, interesting profiles and great exercises and ideas. You finish it feeling as though you can start making changes right this minute.

The Instruction Manual for Women and Success

The Female Brand breathes fresh air into the literature on women and success making it a must read for women (and most men, too). I love the focus on empowerment - with many practical and concrete strategies and tactics you can do to empower your career and dispose of habits that take you nowhere. Smart women don't want to waste time on victim thinking - and there is none of that here. Rather, the author focuses on female aptitudes to leverage. Women are notoriously bad at self-promotion and asking for more money and responsibility. But if you don't promote yourself, who will? The book shows you options - ways to toot your own horn through using story and humor, for example, that can help women cross these hurdles. While we all have our own journey, The Female Brand will show you how to succeed in your journey on your terms - so you can be yourself, achieve what you desire and have fun in the process.

I Loved This Book - It Will Help :You in Your Career

This book will tell you everything you need to know to build a compelling personal brand and capitalize on all your assets and strengths - including ones that the author attributes as distinctly female based on research. A basic premise of the book is that women are good at so many things but not good at branding, promoting or marketing themselves. Somehow, too many of us feel it's "not nice" to highlight our accomplishments. We feel it's not nice to take credit for a job well done. We feel it's not nice to pitch ourselves for a promotion or a raise. Yet if we don't start branding ourselves and stop being humble, we'll never get anywhere. I loved the profiles of women throughout the book - very inspirational. There are a lot of exercises that you can use to deal with problem areas or just improve your abilities. The book points out that women have a different definition of career success than men have. Women are more holistic and want to be success at work, but also to be successful in other realms - with our families, our communities, our personal interests. However you define success for yourself, if you are a women, this book show you how to achieve it and still like who you are.

For Women On The Move

This book is not your everyday women's feel good manual - high on inspiration and practical tips you can actually use in the workplace. Thankfully, it provides insight including some "Aha" moments over ideas I hadn't thought of, along with exercises, stories and profiles so I could see how to implement the book's ideas in my career. I have been in business for two decades and am now in transition. The book was terrific for me because it affirmed things I had experienced and presented new ideas on how to use my aptitudes and assets to brand myself for success as a female leader. It's not a woman's lib book but rather points out areas where women have innate strengths that they can capitalize on in the workplace, like social perception, communications agility, relationship skills and a collaborative leadership style. It's a great book for women like myself who've had a professional career and need some ideas on how to succeed better. And it's a great introduction on how to establish yourself as a female leader using personal branding techniques. Arlene C.
