The Essence of Buddhism (Mind, Body, Spirit)

Well, type in that your looking for a book called the "Essence of Buddhism" and this one is on the second page of books listed with that name. This book really is a general overview, it is magazine size and is jammed with a picture on every page. If it were not for the subject matter, I'd think it is a kids book, maybe as far as that goes, it is oriented towards your teenage set, that is not really clear to me though. The book itself is a little less than one hundred pages and I'd say written a bit in the style of an encyclopedia type of article. It covers Tibetan Buddhism that is Vajyrana, Diamond Vehicle and gives you the basics such as the lifestory of Siddhartha, Shakyamuni Buddha, the original Buddha and events in his life such as sitting under the Bodhi tree and reaching Nirvana. But the best thing about this book is the audio CD accompanying it, they are not audible chants exactly but a recorded meditating session which was obviously recorded in a monastery with Om chants, water, flutes, bird noises dispersed randomly, you can almost smell the incense and it runs nearly an hour long.
