Great fundamental physics theory, no experimental data

Theoretical physicists will still find this excellent text useful for the most fundamental considerations, but there is a complete lack of any experimental data. Experimentalists and engineers will get far more from R W Boyd's great text 'Nonlinear Optics', as Boyd's book has far more of a physical feel about it, and is much more up to date, with useful practical data. There is a need for another book to be written on experimental and device engineering aspects of this subject......................

The most useful text on this topic I am yet to find.

Briefly, this book provides all the necessary background for the subject area, as well as moving towards some of the more cutting edge technological aspects. This book could easily form the backbone of a set of lecture courses on the subject.
