Fun for youngsters!

Really young children will enjoy seeing all the imaginative adventures the spider has after sliding down the waterspout--including hugging a baby bug, meeting a frog in a pond, joining a bug parade, and buying shoes--before settling down to sleep with mama in a cozy spider web hammock.

This one will be a classic in your child's library.

This book is one of my sons favorites. (17 months) The illustrations are great and the authors make a cute little day-long adventure for the eensy weensy spider. The book is actually pretty long so it works well for a bedtime story. I would also suggest "The Lady with the Alligator Purse" and "Miss Mary Mack" by the same two authors. All three of these books are illustrated from a unique point of view that I think children like because they get to see things from a semi-birds view rather than their usual worms eye view.

Fun book for the whole family

This is one of the few books that I can get my 14 month old to sit through, he loves the illustrations and the rhymning text holds his attention. It is a favorite for both of his parents, as well. We highly recommend this book.

We LOVE this book

My husband bought this book for our daughter when she was 2 months old. We have been reading it together from day one. While she is only 3 1/2 months old, she clearly enjoys when I read it to her, because she keeps her attention focused on the book until I am finished, she doesn't get fussy or bored like she does with other books. I think because the illustrations are so great and because you "sing" the words. We have bought this book and given it as gifts to our little friends. It's wonderful!

An easy-reading, fun pick.

An easy-reading, fun pick. Mary Ann Hoberman adapts The Eensy-Weensy Spider, which takes the classic rhyme and explores what happens to the spider after the spout incident. Nadine Bernard Westcott's illustrations are hilarious.
